Thousands of people were surprised Wednesday when they received the email that their RFYL (Run For Your Lives) Zombie Infested 5k / Mud Run was cancelled.
“RFYL Participants, It is with great sadness that we are notifying you that the Run For Your Lives event you have purchased a ticket for has been cancelled. This was a tough decision and something we desperately tried to avoid. We understand the frustration this will cause you, as well as inconvenience. For that, we are deeply sorry. At this point, all events are postponed indefinitely and you should contact your bank for a full refund.
This race has been a personal favorite the last three years so I was confused and disappointed. I only signed up last week. Did they have no idea that things were looking so bleak? They had just scheduled THREE races in Maryland. I have to wonder if they KNEW this was going to happen and they tried to squeeze every last dollar out of their fans before calling it quits. If they didn’t think they were going to be able to hold the rest of the races scheduled for this year, then maybe it would be a good idea to hold off on advertising three additional Maryland races.
I say BOOOOOO to RFYL and Reed Street Productions. Even if they are ressurected I won’t sign up for any of their future events (Tomato Run). This whole episode reeks like a decaying zombie. I encourage all of you to contact your banks and fight for your refund. Did I say BOOOOOOO? And in case you want to drop them a line:
