Seven Valleys – Six Valleys wasn’t enough

It has been awhile since I have been able to update my blog.  Things have been busy, busy, busy.  In the last few months we have sold our house in Maryland and bought a new one in Pennsylvania.  Needless to say, I haven’t had a lot of time for running or races.  I was also suffering from a foot injury that I couldn’t shake.  To make a long story short, I am starting over. It sucks. Every run hurts now.  I was at a point where I could easily run 10+ miles at a descent pace and felt confident in my abilities.  I was barely able to finish 2 miles on my first run last week.  I can finish 3 miles now, but it wears me out.  I have needed my inhaler after 2 of my 4 runs. It sucks. We moved to a place called Seven Valleys, PA.  It is beautiful out here.  And really quiet.  And, as the name Seven Valleys implies, really hilly.  So in addition to starting out fresh, all of my training is done going up and down hills.  I am still looking for some flat space to run. I am back in the saddle now.  Slower and heavier than I would like to be, but running again.  I have 2 local runs scheduled over the next month and if I survive those, I will start looking for some more races and some in Maryland (I am close to the Maryland border). I hope to see you on the trails.
